The Allures were very interesting. Love that this series always brings something new to the paranormal genre. It took forever for Daisy and Owen to meet up but it was worth the wait. I had a feeling I knew what was happening with Daisy and the Allures. I hope Owen can help her!

Lure picks up about 2 years after Seduction's Kiss left off. Daisy has been searching for Owen since they were separated. Her friends have no memory of what happen in New Orleans 2 years ago. She's tried to explain what happened, but no one believes her. She's even suffered through counseling to prove that she hasn't lost her mind. Just days after Daisy has finished with college, she leaves her normal, mundane life and heads off to New Orleans. Using the guise of going to New Orleans for a job interview, Daisy plans to retrace her steps from 2 years ago and hopes to get some answers. Only a lot of time has passed. The people she once encountered are no longer there, she's still dealing with the effects of seduction's kiss and her life is about to get crazier. She thought dealing with vampires was bad, but she hasn't met the Allures yet. The Allures are beautiful, but manipulative creatures and I'm not sure what their true motives are. To make matters worse, Owen is no where to be found. Will Daisy be able to find Owen again? Will the Allures prove to be trustworthy or just another paranormal creature set out to get Daisy? I want to try to keep this review as spoiler free as possible, so here it goes. I loved Lure! Even though this book takes place 2 years after Seduction's Kiss, it feels as though no time has passed. I am once again captivated by the world and mystery that Alyssa Rose Ivy has created. I'm on the edge of my seat wondering where the story will go next. We are introduced to some new supernatural beings in this book. The Allures captivated me from the moment that we are first introduced to them. Their supernatural powers are pretty cool, but their motives are still questionable... Owen and Daisy do not disappoint. Even though they have been separated for a few years, it's as though nothing has changed for them. Their pull to one another is stronger than ever and this time, Owen is more determined to not loose Daisy. Lure is the first book in this exciting new series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. It has great paranormal aspects, romance, suspense, and twists. You will be on the edge of your seat until the very end. Just to warn you, this book does end with a bit of a cliffhanger. I have a lot of questions and hope that we will find some answers in the next book! I am really excited to see what will happen next and what craziness will await us in book 2! *I was provided with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review* My review can also be seen here at: http://www.onceuponabookblog.com/blog...

Now, a note on the name. This makes the book sound way crazier than it is. Seduction's Kiss is a magic lotion that was given to the main character and it is much better explained in Lure, but the name is a bit misleading until you get to the first book. The Allure Chronicles is Owen's story. It is set in the same paranormal world of The Society that Alyssa Rose Ivy writes so well. I love the idea of multiple series existing alongside each other in the same world. And they each have different paranormals that drift in and out of the books in varying degrees. If you are new to Alyssa Rose Ivy's paranormal series, I think the Allure Chronicles is a great one to start with. You don't need to read the other series in order to understand what is going on. The main characters from the Crescent Chronicles and the Empire Chronicles are in the book, but their roles in the story are fully explained. (Of course, I would recommend reading all the series as they are each fantastic) In the Allure chronicles we get to learn all about the mysterious allures. It turns out that the paste the witch (in Seduction's Kiss) gave Daisy had some Allure essence in it and it is having some interesting side effects on Daisy. I do love that Owen isn't affected by it. It makes their intense crushes on each other all the more wonderful. And the two of them are wonderful. I couldn't read the pages fast enough. I wanted more, more MORE. I think this may be my favorite series of Alyssa Rose Ivy yet. I have enjoyed all of her books, but there is just something about Daisy and Owen. And something about the Allues. I found them completely fascinating. I have so many questions about them! The end of the book nearly broke my heart. I can't wait to see what is going to happen in the next book. Alyssa Rose Ivy does such a fantastic job with paranormal romances. She is one of my very favorite New Adult authors, and is at the top of my auto buy list. This review was originally posted on Book Briefs

I could probably like this book more if I actually believed they feel something close to love for each other, all I could see between them was lust and that made the parts where they talk about love completely ridiculous. Well That was kind of an odd mess with twists. Main character was pretty childish and kind of whiny. No real connection to them or their development(or lack there of).

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review, I was in no way compensated for this review. If I haven't made it official yet, let me state it now: Alyssa Rose Ivy is my FAVORITE Paranormal New Adult author of all time!! That all four of these series are in the same universe is even more fun because the I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review, I was in no way compensated for this review. If I haven't made it official yet, let me state it now: Alyssa Rose Ivy is my FAVORITE Paranormal New Adult author of all time!! I LOVE her series; The Crescent Chronicles, The Empire Chronicles, The Dire Wolves Chronicles, and now I can add The Allure Chronicles! I just LOVE this world she's created! That all four of these series are in the same universe is even more fun because there are LOTS of crossovers! Each character has popped up in some way in all of the stories! I seriously had NO IDEA what I was getting into when I picked up Flight when I won it one day. No clue. I was completely sucked into this world Alyssa has created and it always leaves me craving more and more! And I've gotten more and more with each novel and additional series!! SQUEE! So after all that gushing over the author and her books, let's talk Lure! Lure was fabulous! I read the prequel Seduction's Kiss to it not that long ago and loved it! It's basically the precursor of this story! I wouldn't say you have to read it to follow along, but you should! It's short and oh so enjoyable! I love Daisy's character! She's just as sassy and independent as all Alyssa's previous heroines and I love that! I love the sass and attitude! I love the softer side they show on rare occasions, I love it all! It's been over two years since Daisy met Owen, shared that one kiss and have been head over heels ever since. She can't get over this mysterious guy with wings. She's been through therapy, no one believes her, she's called crazy, things are just a mess. So once she graduates college she goes back to NOLA for an interview for an internship, right away she's trying to find traces or clues that would lead her to Owen, but she's shocked to find everything different. The photography shop? Gone. The Voodoo Shop? Taken over by a new owner right around the time Daisy left. The vampire club? Not a hot new club loads of people attend. Everything has changed, to say the least! Daisy also still has the problem of seeming to attract just about everyone. It's not a vanity thing either. Literally most guys and girls are just drawn to her and want to be with her, love her, kiss her, yadda yadda yadda. Then Daisy has a chance of circumstance where she meets three people who call themselves Allures. She has no idea what that is, but learns it's yet another brand of supernatural she had no clue existed. Violet, Hugh, and Roland agree to help her find Owen, if she helps them find the witch who killed one of their own. All things tie together in this one from little tidbits of Seduction's Kiss! I think my only complaint was that Daisy and Owen didn't come to find one another sooner! I was worried it would never happen, but happen it does! And oh wow! It was incredible! I love the mystery to this one! There's so much mystery surrounding the Allures and what's happening to Daisy, because clearly she's changing. Plus there seems to be some odd connection to Roland. There's no romance, but Roland is rather flirty with her. It definitely makes the theories start to fly around in my head! The ending to this one was quite explosive, at least I thought so! It was shocking, but yet, I felt like there were enough clues to guide us to that path! But there's still plenty left unsaid! This is only the start of Owen and Daisy's story and I SO cannot wait to see what happens next! At least there will be the final Dire Wolves Chronicles book to tide me over to the wait of this one! If you haven't read Alyssa Rose Ivy's books yet, what are you waiting for?! They are freaking incredible! I eat them up and am always left needing more, because they are just that awesome! The perfect blend of paranormal, action, romance, humor and suspense! Everything you could want from a novel! Though you could read just about any of the series in whatever order you chose, I would still recommend reading them in series order because there are nonsensical little things that are revealed in later stories that would be kind of spoilery to past series, had you not read them. Just a piece of advice. Overall Rating 5/5 stars Lure releases February 16, 2015

Lure was an interesting start to a promising story. Although I couldn't fully get behind the characters and their actions, I did like the supernatural side of things. It was unique and refreshing. About 2.5 years after the events of Seduction's Kiss, Daisy's finally back in New Orleans. She felt a connection to her winged rescuer then and now she's determined to prove it to herself. People thought she was insane but let me tell you something, she wasn't insane 2.5 years ago. What she did to find Lure was an interesting start to a promising story. What she did to find Owen, that was insane. Having no clue where to even begin looking for him, she finds herself in the company of three supernatural beings known as the Allures. They sense something different about her - thanks to a certain witch (read Seduction's Kiss to find out) - and they insist on helping Daisy look for Owen among other things. While she was unsure at first, they were her only resource so reluctantly she accepts. My internal danger meter was going off but nope, not Daisy's. From then on, she got on my nerves. I completely understood her hesitations to trust the mysterious trio but I also wanted to remind her that she made the choice to go with them. I honestly didn't need to be told repeatedly how bad an idea it was. She was desperate and it showed. In the main time, Owen hasn't forgotten about Daisy either. Unlike in Seduction's Kiss where we're unsure how he feels, we got Owen's POV in Lure! I love seeing him confirm he also felt a connection to Daisy. However, he was badly hurt before so it made sense he never went looking for her. The attraction was there just never acted upon. That is, until she pops up in front of him again. A fair warning that a trace of instalove was present. Probably because they spent such a long time apart so their infatuation with each other grew exponentially. Things do heat up and proceed pretty quickly once they come into contact again. They definitely leapt into action as soon as they were assured of their mutual feelings. What I disliked about this book was the pacing. I didn't expect Daisy to find Owen asap but I didn't expect it to take that long either. The Allures dragged Daisy everywhere. I really didn't appreciate how much they baited us her about there being more to the witch's spell on her. Every time we got close to the truth, it slips away. When it was finally revealed at the end, it almost felt too rushed. By then, I already suspected what was coming for Daisy and I was right. It was predictable after so much hinting. Though I am still interested to see how they will fight it. Can they fight it? I cannot wait to see what kind of obstacles stand in the way of Daisy and Owen (view spoiler)[being together besides the ultimate one that she's becoming an Allure (hide spoiler)] . As much as I hate to say this, I think not reading The Crescent Chronicles, which is the parent series to this series, took away from my enjoyment. It took me more time than I liked to piece together who was who, how everyone related to each other and why they were relevant. I did get the big picture though and it wasn't absolutely needed to understand the plot but I like to get my facts straight. This is definitely a personal preference so please don't let my gripe get in the way of your decision. Now that I have everything figured out and sorted into the right place in my mental relationship chart, I'm really intrigued to see which direction this series will take. That cliffy ending's got my attention so needless to say, I will be following Owen and Daisy's quest. To what, I cannot say :P

Two and a half years have passed since Daisy last saw Owen but she hasn’t forgotten him or his wings and she’s determined to find him again. She’s had to bid her time and attempt to pretend that she’s normal that the therapy is helping that it wasn’t real what happened in New Orleans but she knows the truth. Now that the chance has come to return for New Orleans for a job interview Daisy can begin planning even meeting up with her friend from the paranormal online site who she’s pretended to be in a long distance relationship with. Upon returning to New Orleans she heads to the art gallery as well as the voodoo shop to learn that both of them are gone and being in town makes guys even more drawn to her. While in town she’s seen Levi who happened to be with Owen before but he tells her that he’s off the grid left town. The way the guys are drawn to her has been nothing but a curse for her and when she gets an overzealous guy who won’t take no for an answer some hooded strangers step in. It’s clear to Daisy that they aren’t human but they are quick to help her find Owen determined to help her because what happened to her the last time she was in New Orleans ties her to them. Daisy sets off on a cross country journey to find the man she’s loved after one kiss but what she finds is a lot more. Will she find Owen? What about Seductions Kiss the spell the witch placed on her? I love Daisy she’s just so darn sweet very girl next door who happens to be in love with one of my favorite paranormal creatures a Pteron named Owen. Typically I’m not a fan of insta love but Daisy and Owen would be the exception to the rule they just have this perfect fit together that just works. One kiss and they have been obsessed with each other for over two years they have that special spark. When I received the offer for Lure I couldn’t wait to finish my current read so that I would be able to read Daisy and Owens story after the teaser of Seductions Kiss. Lure is a spin-off of the Crescent Chronicles but with a whole new element the Allures which is a new paranormal being that the series focus’s around. It’s the best of both worlds a little of my favorites the Pteron’s and the interesting Allures who I’m dying to learn more about. I love the way the characters from past novels happen to pop up in the book like Levi and Hailey they are all intertwined yet individual. Daisy is a great character she’s easy to connect with and I had a hard time putting it down I wanted to know if she would find Owen and what was happening to her. Lure is beautifully written it flows smoothly from start to finish capturing the heart as well as the imagination. Loaded with action, a mystery a little romance and loads of paranormal's some even with their shirts off. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and see how it’s going to play out. If you had asked me before I started which of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s paranormal series was my favorite I would have said the Dire Wolves with The Crescent’s in a close second but I think the Allures just stole the number one spot they are so unique. I just loved every moment of it.

Alyssa Rose Ivy just made Lure my favorite series yet, and the ending left me dying for more of Owen and Daisy’s story. I have been very patiently waiting for Alyssa Rose Ivy to write Owen’s story, and I love how each of the characters of the Crescent Chronicles is getting their own love story. It is so much fun watching how each of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s paranormal series interconnect in so many ways, and you always get new viewpoints of your favorite characters. It is so much fun watching how each of Alyssa Rose Ivy’s paranormal series interconnect in so many ways, and you always get new viewpoints of your favorite characters. I have to say that Daisy is far too trusting for me, because I could not help but bite my nails as she would willing go with people she had just met. Even if I do like them in the end, I was still dealing with trust issues for Daisy from Seduction’s Kiss. In previous series, The Crescent Chronicles and The Empire Chronicles, Owen is not as prevalent, and I loved seeing things from his point of view. Owen is a true romantic at heart, which I think is quite different from the way Levi and Jared are when you first meet them. I could not help but hope that Daisy and Owen reunited and got their love story, but with every great story, there is a twist that no one sees coming. I like the introduction to a new paranormal species in Lure, and I am curious to see how they feature in future Chronicles novels. I am also excited for the possible return of characters I have not seen in a while, but I am not going to say anything more because I do not want to spoil it for others. Alyssa Rose Ivy has defiantly found a magic formula for creating epic love stories that I cannot help but devour the second I receive them. I hope that Daisy and Owen’s love story beats all the odds, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next installment of The Allure Chronicles. If you are curious about this series, I defiantly recommend picking up the prequel novella Seduction’s Kiss and diving in for an exciting read. As always Alyssa Rose Ivy remains my favorite author to date, and I will always read anything she produces. **Unabridged Bookshelf received this book in exchange for an honest review**

WOW. What can I say? When I first started the series I totally thought it was about VAMPS which I hate, but loved how it was written in Seduction's Kiss. Daisy, has graduated college and we find that she has NOT been able to get Owen off her mind. I mean who could blame her after the way that kiss was described lol. She embarks on a mission to head back to the Crescent City to find Owen and "thank him" for saving her life. During her return she comes into contact with a few "paranormals" that wil WOW. Daisy's character is well written although at times she irritated me with her gazillion questions, but then again she had a right to ask them...but does she really want the answers? I enjoyed this book so much that I took a half Saturday to read it. I loved how Alyssa wrote the characters and I like how in each of her books none of them are the same. Daisy is brave and confident and was much more mature I think than the first book. Of course it's 2 years later so we see here evolve. I like Owen's character. He has a high ranking position with the Society, but in this book also shows his human side and vulnerability. What more can you ask for than sexy and vulnerable in a book boyfriend. Read this series. It's not like anything out there!

I think Levi might have some competition Owen he's kinda stealing my heart, well actually all of the Pteron boys have a little piece of my heart some more than others. Owen he's quite the one to ask many questions when the subject catches his interest, "Daisy?" My body froze at the mention of her name. "Where did you see her? What was she doing?" Was it possible after two years she was looking for me?" I liked how he went back to stuttering like a teenager when his woman was in the room, "yeah. Was it possible after two years she was looking for me?" I liked how he went back to stuttering like a teenager when his woman was in the room, "yeah. If that's okay with you." What, was I fifteen? I blamed by inability to speak normally on the strangeness of the situation." When Daisy and Owen are together it's like time hasn't passed, "you can really kiss." She remained on my lap.I rested my hands on her hips." The passion Owen had, "I don't care, but do you want to borrow a t-shirt to sleep in?" I eagerly anticipated a yes. The thought of her wearing only one of my shirts had me so aroused my jeans were becoming my worst enemy." The conversations these two had made me really happy: "How did you know I was implying a shower together?" "Because of the giant smile on your face, and the bulge pressing against me." The ending is sort of a cliffhanger but the characters are where I wanted them to be so I wasn't upset with Alyssa.

When I read Seduction's Kiss, the prequel novella to Lure, I was intrigued and excited for Lure to come out. Things do get a bit more complicated here in Lure, and we get introduced to quite a few new characters. They contribute to an interesting dynamic that is forming, and one that I'm not necessarily excited about. Not because I don't like the story...the story-aside from a bit of a slow start-is really good. But because of what it may mean for Daisy and Owen. And oh, Owen. He's just as perfect as he was in Seduction's Kiss, and here we get to find out more about him, his family and friends, and though he and Daisy are apart for most of the book, once they come together...*sigh* And I love getting to see things from his point of view-as always, adding the male lead's POV to the story really helps give depth and clarity. But the things we learn from the Allures have me antsy to read the next book...Alyssa, you have me worried! 4 agitated stars for Lure, and I need more Owen please...

I enjoyed learning about them and their characteristics. Violet, Hugh, and Roland are an amusing trio that kept the story entertaining and unpredictable. I really like Owen. Despite being the advisor to the king he is down to earth and uncertain of his worth. He has a great personality and good heart. Lure has an excellent plot that kept me engaged. The story is well-written and creative. The ending left me anxiously anticipating the next book. I cannot wait to see obstacles Daisy and Owen have to overcome. 3.5/5 I’ve got to be honest, Lure is really, really difficult to review; there is so much going on within the plot aside from the romance. There are a number of mysteries to solve yet not a lot of revelations at this point. Lure occurs two and a half years after the events in Seductions Kiss. It was amazing to actually get Owen’s perspective in this story, although the main part of the narrative is still told from Daisy’s point of view. The reader only uncovers the plot threads at the same time as 3.5/5 I’ve got to be honest, Lure is really, really difficult to review; there is so much going on within the plot aside from the romance. The reader only uncovers the plot threads at the same time as Daisy, making it very easy to understand Daisy’s frustration with being kept in the dark. Incorporating a paranormal court with different magical beings all woven together; conspiracy theories immediately take root within the mind. Obsession, magic, influence and manipulation all take a turn in the spotlight. As I said there is a whole lot of action and mystery within this story beside the romance. Although the romance is obviously my favourite aspect ;) I loved the connection between Daisy and Owen. Dreams of soul-mates and HEA fill the gaps of the plot and imagination. Lure builds on Seductions Kiss yet leaves the reader desperate for more.

I am in love with this series!!! I think it may be my favorite Alyssa Rose Ivy series that I've read yet! Daisy and Owen are so adorable! The plot is unique and I haven't read anything like it, ever. There is romance, mythology, fantasy, paranormal creatures, suspense, as well as the appearance of other characters from this world. The end will leave you wanting the next book asap!

I can say I loved it! **Small spoiler alert** Daisy.. Daisy… Daisy… the poor girl is a few fries short of a happy meal it seems. Or so the people around her think. When she came back from New Orleans two and a half years ago she didn't think her life would turn out this way. Her mom is making her see a shrink, she has to hide what really happened and why it happened from everyone and the one man she wants the most she has no clue who he is other than his name. Owen. Daisy comes up with this elaborate plan to go back to New Orleans and start looking for answers, only problem is.. she doesn’t know where to start. Going to New Orleans under the pretense of getting an internship with a newspaper she heads off for a trip that may just lead her to her hero she lost many years ago. When Daisy arrives in New Orleans so many things start to run through her head. Some good, some bad. And some… just kind of out there. The plan is to retrace her steps. Can’t be that hard, right? Wrong. Thanks to her magical voodoo visit the last time she was here she has a tendency to draw attention to herself from some men and woman. And as she walks along the streets to start her search that is just what happens. She starts at the photography gallery she had come to the last time. Harold was not there, seems he disappeared right after she was here last time. But the kid that was there was attracted and then got clingy. As usual. It was her Seductions Kiss. The treacherous magic that made her uneasy. She got away from the man -Evan- by agreeing to meet him later at some place for a drink. Even though she had no intention of going there. And she went back on her search. At the Voodoo shop it was the same thing. Kalia was no longer there and the new shops owner hadn’t heard of her. So she was back to square one. Going into the bar she had agreed to meet Evan at she moved to the bar and left him a note with the bartender. She couldn't do this.. but he popped up and she was stuck. She tried to get away from him but he was relentless. It wasn't until she met Violet that things changed and went a little more to the crazy side. Violet, Hugh and Roland all stared at her like she was something shiny. But she agreed to sit and have a drink with them. They were the three weird but there was more to them than appeared at first. Making the choice -of her own free will- to leave with them so they could talk in a safe place Daisy isn’t quite sure what’s going on but hopefully it will get her answers.. she needs to find Owen and fast. She is only here -for now- for two days. Times running out fast. As the night passes she learns more and more about the three strangers but as she learns of them she wants to know more. So much about them has her puzzled. That only gets stronger when they seem to be attaching themselves to her. Things inside of Daisy's head start to get to her. What are these guys up to? What's with the push to have her with them? It gets to a point of craziness when Daisy shows up for her interview and is given the job almost before her ass hits the chair. Seems Violet had been playing the ladies happiness up. Making it so Daisy for the job but not how she wanted to. That night she was to meet her friend Andrew from the online paranormal site she's been visiting for years. It was her place of splice when she went back home and wanted more information on Owen and what he was. Of course the crazy trio had to show up and tag along. It was like she needed a supervisor. Maybe they didn't trust her or they were worried she'd run off? (Laughs) Clingy they are. But... There is a good point of the night. She gets to meet Andrew face to face with an added bonus... Levi is there. As in the King. Though his voice holds a warning when he greets her. What's that for? Again, there is something she's not getting. After a few minutes of them talking Violet comes up and says it's time to go. It's not really a request. She's all but drug out and shoved into a car that Violet 'commandeers' from some man and they literally speed out of town. They've got a friend that can find Owen. But there will be a stop they need to make before they get to California. The trip was long but she was no worse for wear after it. When they arrived at their friends house in Arizona Daisy was introduced to Louie. Eccentric as he was she was reluctant to speak to him alone but she did. There was something off about him but then again they were all a few fries short of a happy meal. Though the part of her that wanted to listen to him and find out about them was overwhelmed by the fact that she wanted to find Owen. Louie sent them off but they were to return after they found Owen. Something was off but then they were all a bit cray cray so it wasn’t -that- off. So they headed back to the interstate and were off to California. When they arrive at the wrought iron fence -yet again- Daisy has to wonder what it is with these people and these damn fences. (I had the same thought.) When they arrive at the front of the house Daisy is out of the car in no time. Not waiting on the others and is greeted by Cade. The King of California who comes out to greet her. Then something miraculous happens. Or it could just be damn good timing but Hailey, Owen’s sister steps out of the house. As soon as she sees Daisy and they speak a moment she knows who she is. “Halloween girl”. Not a nickname many would have but hey it meant Owen had talked about her, that was something, right? Good news is.. Hailey knows where Owen is, she was just there with him. Cade -being the gentleman he is and all- offers them use of his private jet but he is coming with them. So Daisy, Hailey, Cade and the three Allures pile in this jet and high tail it to Colorado where Owen is. Without warning, might I add. So when owen is awoken by noises, voices from outside he gets a bit pissy until he realizes what is going on. Daisy is there. And he quickly makes his way to her and after a few minutes of chatting with the others he whisks her away. They have both been miserable for the last 2 and a half years and the bond that they felt that night is still there. The next morning it was as if they hadn’t been apart. Both wanting to fall asleep and wake up in each others arms. As they spend the day together there is a plan in motion for a date night. Thanks to Cade and Hailey he is able to set it up. Just the way it should be. Dinner and a movie. But, as usual, the Allures have bad timing. Violet interrupts their movie saying they have to go. They need to get back to Louie’s. Seems Kalisa has been found. The Allures, Daisy and Owen fly to Louies and when they get there things get… a wee bit crazy. Or crazier if you will. Seems they think Daisy is changing more into an Allure. But it can’t be stopped. But neither Owen or Daisy are taking that for an answer. There is no way she wants to be an Allure. She wants Owen and a life together whatever that may be more. So now the race is on to find a way to stop this or to make it all go away. I loved this installment of this series. And don’t worry I left a lot out.. (snickers) There were a few points within that (for me) moved a little slow but in the end the story and the characters made it all worth while. The world that ALyssa has envisioned is so different than any others I have seen before. (Well read, you know what I mean) That in itself made it a spectacular read. And I love Daisy. She is a bad-ass in a little package. And Owen, well her Adonis is the only man she has eyes for. I can’t wait to see how this goes next. I am all but bouncing in my seat here. (happy sigh)

It's been 2 1/2 years since Daisy and Owen's encounter in Seduction's Kiss. They tell us time heals all wounds. But Daisy hasn't forgotten that fateful night...or the Pteron who rescued her. She's tired of waiting and I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. "I can still feel his hands, his lips. Hear his voice. It's like he seeped into my soul." It's been 2 1/2 years since Daisy and Owen's encounter in Seduction's Kiss. They tell us time heals all wounds. But Daisy hasn't forgotten that fateful night...or the Pteron who rescued her. She's waited long enough, suffered through enough counseling, and heard enough parental lectures on the subject. She's tired of waiting and not knowing. Tired of only having distant memories. That trip shaped her emotions and her journalism career choice. So, she's going back to where it all began, New Orleans. Let the anticipation begin! Next stop, Crescent City Hotel, and we are hit with a wave of nostalgia. As if Daisy has forgotten just how strange New Orleans was the last visit, she begins to remember when she takes a trip to the shop that was once owned by the photographer who helped start her on this journey. Unfortunately, he no longer occupies that store, but fate is stepping in again to offer her an additional opportunity. Next stop, a visit to Kalisa at the Magic Cauldron. Oddly, just like the photographer's store, this one holds the same shocking change. It makes us start to wonder what the heck is going on in this bizarre city. Before that thought can be conjured and leave our head, we find another displacement in the story, which leads to our desperately-seeking-Pteron girl getting a break. It might be a little shaky initially, but she knows just what to say to set the wheels in motion. "Even after two years I could still remember the taste of her lips, and the way her mouth had eagerly welcomed me." Our excitement starts to gain momentum as we have our first sighting of Owen. He has escaped to the mountains to find peace and solace for his sad heart. He is alone. Not married or dating like his friends. Alone. And the one kiss he keeps going back to is the one he ran away from. So, we find him in Colville, Colorado about to be given a proposition from Clyde, another person hoping for an escape from life. "Everything is going to be okay. It might get crazy and terrifying, but it's going to be better." Today has not gone as Daisy wanted and she certainly doesn't want to deal with company tonight. However, she has a commitment with an acquaintance from earlier in the day to keep. When this acquaintance shows up at the bar they agreed to meet at and becomes a little too pushy, she is in need of rescue. Enter Violet, Hugh, and Roland, and we now feel like we've stepped into the Twilight Zone, or maybe just the Woodstock era. What have they been smokin'? They begin firing questions at her in an overwhelming fashion. Knowing they can't discuss who they are in public they leave. Daisy begins to allow her New Orleans story to bubble out. She finds herself stuck to depend on these...whatever they are. But, needs help finding Owen. She travels with them to their "home" and we are privy to more awkward moments and questioning. They have powers that are unlike anything she has ever seen, and we soon discover just how their lives are melding and clashing with Daisy’s in a way that can alter her future. Our next visual is of Owen having a recurring dream that has plagued him. As he is shaking himself out of this trance, a familiar face arrives, his sister Hailey. Meanwhile, Daisy makes her way through an old amusement park and comes face-to-face with the the reality of the Allures. Violet then proceeds to give us details of the Allures, who they are, how their gifts work. But, because Daisy holds some of their essence, there is much unknown about how they will effect each other. Regardless, they each want something, so they strike one deal, and the next day another. Owen and Hailey have decided to hit the town. They enjoy spending time together, even when interrupted by Clyde. Not wanting to overstay her welcome, Hailey leaves to visit a fellow Pteron. If only Daisy could escape her current situation and still get what she came for. Living with paranormals isn't all it's cracked up to be. She is having a night out on the town with them to meet Andrew, her online contact in a paranormal chat group. Arriving we find that he didn't come alone either, and his guest shocks us. Then another bombshell drops, as we find out the source of Andrew's leads. Things get really weird and it calls for a sudden departure, destination California. "Does the name Daisy suit who you really are?" First question in the crazy games one plays while stuck in a car with 3 Allures on a road to who knows where. But it does offer us an opportunity to learn a little more about Allures. A short time later, we are back with Owen and Clyde. Seems like Daisy isn't the only one striking up deals with those she doesn't really know. We continue the story with Daisy, the Allures, and a new member, Louise. He is interesting. He tried to explain to Daisy, as best he can, what has happened to her. She is now closer to getting back to Owen. But, he is on a wild goose chase of his own. Then the pieces start clicking into place. "The only thing that was going to help was seeing her, and I had absolutely no idea how long it would be before that happened." ECSTATIC!!!! That was my feeling at this point in the story. I could see that a bigger plan was coming together, and all of the players in the story finally knew it. As Daisy became more aware of her new self, Owen also admitted to himself why he ran away and what he had been missing. I could see the visible tug. They were like magnets being drawn together by some enigmatic force, until finally the positive and negative sides lined up and there was contact. Their reunion was the most magical moment in the book. It was a little awkward, like teens on a first date, but there was a spark that had always been there. It built until it was the Forth of July and the Disney Electrical parade all rolled into one. They were smitten with one another one minute and smoldering the next. As I was aiming my eyes forward to a happy ending, I forgot to watch where I was going and found myself tripped up by the next step in Lure. Then I stumbled and fell, and had no idea how to get up. I love that both Owen and Daisy narrated their story. The interactions between the Allures made my head spin. They were funny, intense, and maybe just a little wacky. I was definitely intrigued by their abilities. The details and fast pace of the story held my attention and made me crave more. Because I have loved the other series connected to this book, I was ecstatic to see the other character’s from previous books. It was like snuggling into your favorite warm blanket, bringing comfort and familiarity. There were constant surprises, some I was thrilled about and others flustered me. I had so many more questions left to be answered, but am happily and anxiously anticipating the next book in the series to find out. This quote from Lure perfectly states the hope I had when reading the ending... "Destiny is the kind of thing that can be changed."

He sensed that Daisy was in danger and went to save her. After the rescue, still feeling dizzy, Daisy and Owen kissed, with the promise that she would never talk about what had happened that day... Years later, Daisy can not forget what happened to her ... and that handsome, magical man who kissed her. She finds a way to get back to NOLA and find him again. But when she got there, she discovered that he was gone. Meeting other mythical beings, Daisy sees herself in the middle of a hunt: to find the witch Kalista who had made a magic potion for Daisy, probably using the essence of another magical being. Meanwhile, Daisy is being introduced to as many other beings as she had ever heard, such as the Allures. She and Owen are together again, and with the Allures, they start to live an adventure. The plot is very interesting. Being a Fantasy, the sky is the limit. However, what began to excite me, in the middle I was already bored. I read til the ending to find out that there are still 3 more books until the couple can finally be together. Sorry, no. 3,5 stars

I really wanted to like this book. I just couldn’t get to the point where I liked the main characters, Daisy & Owen, or the secondary characters, the Allures. It was hard to fathom the chemistry between Owen & Daisy as being actual “Love” instead of just physical lust. I felt annoyed with the whole Allure thing & their attitudes. I was also annoyed that Owen could mope about Daisy for so long without trying to figure out something. This really did not make me want to continue to read I really wanted to like this book. Intriguing More than Weres are out there. Immortals are real. Not vampires but true immortals. Something that is learned in one night all because of a witch and a vampire. Something Daisy never expected when she accompanied her friend REYNA to New Orleans. My first book by this author I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. There are secrets and mysteries that are explained. Somewhat, but it does keep a reader hooked. I look forward to reading more from this author.
